why hello, disappointment!
Tomorrow night is supposed to be what would be mine and Jarrett’s engagement dinner. I invited four of my friends (my bridal party), and out of those friends only one actually remembered. I had reminded the three that forgot numerous times. Even earlier this week, I reminded James. He admitted that he totally forgot, even though I told him about it nearly two months ago and reminded him on a...

Day 14: A book you regret not having read sooner
The Hunger Games, for sure. I saw it at book stores and just rang it up as another teen series (THERE ARE SO MANY) and had zero interest. And then talk of the movie started, and I saw that everyone was in an absolute mess over how excited they were. I knew I must’ve missed something, so jump on the band wagon I did!
anxiety.
I deal with pretty bad anxiety. I have never really admitted how bad it is, to be honest. I get a lot of flack for it, but I always refused to go on medication for it and decided to just live with it, basically. A lot of people also turn their noses up at the idea of natural/holistic routes, but that’s the route I prefer. And so, I’m going to start taking some anxiety & stress...

101 Favourite Songs
I’m done my playlist of my 101 favourite songs. I’m going to post them once a day on here, so that’ll take awhile ;) The only order the songs are in is alphabetical. It’d be impossible for me to put these in order of preference.
minsnotebook asked: I've been wanting to write this for a while, but life being crazy, I hadn't. I applaud you. For your honesty in all aspect of your life. I, for one, like Harry Potter. But I respect you, and your critics of it, because you read it, or at least tried. I've been fighting with people about their criticizing things they know nothing about for ages, wether race, religion, books, food......
for lent, i'm giving up diet pepsi.
This shit needs to stop.

Day 12: Your Favourite Authors.
Wally Lamb Jeffrey Eugenides Augusten Burroughs Alice Sebold David Sedaris Steve Martin
good things.
I’m feeling suprisingly good about things. Two weeks ago I got one of my assignments back and the mark was horrible. 58%. But I knew it was my fault. I rushed it, I didn’t put in the time it required. My mark in that course is still pretty good (80%) so instead of focussing on that assignment’s mark and feeling guilty, I decided to focus on what my overall mark still was in that...

Day 10: Name five absolutely great film...
maybe it's time to end some shitty friendships.
Two of the “friends” in my life are Sarah, and Erinne. I’ve been friends with them since I was ten, and 14, respectively (we’re all the same age). I have always, always had issues with them but recently it’s come to the point where I just don’t think it’s worth it anymore. With Sarah, she’s always been a little flaky. Never calls back, forgets plans,...

Day 9: Your favorite quotes about books.
“Books mean all possibilities. They mean moving out of yourself, losing yourself, dying of thirst and living to your full. They mean everything.” Hotel World by Ali Smith
“A good book should leave you… slightly exhausted at the end. You live several lives while reading it. “ William Styron
“Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog...

Day 8: Your favorite quotes from books.
“Happy is what you realize you are a fraction of a second before it’s too late.” - Hotel World by Ali Smith “We accept the love we think we deserve.” The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
“The same as if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, you realize, if no one had been there to witness the agony of Christ, would we be...
playlist.
One of my 101 Things is to make a playlist of my top 101 favourite songs. I’ve been working on it for a week now, and I’m only at song #46. The criteria is: - No more than ten songs per band/artist. - Has to be something that’d I’d be willing to listen to if I was only able to listen to a group of 101 songs for the rest of my life. This is easily one of the most difficult...

Day 7: The worst book you’ve read in the last...
Harry fucking Potter. I’m sorry (no, I’m not) but I HATED Harry Potter. I thought maybe it was because I didn’t read it entirely until I was 25, but I did try to read it when I was 15, and I hated it then (only got through the first chapter, though). I just felt that it was beyond ridiculous. It was ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER. She has a great imagination, I will give her that, but I...

Day 6: The best book you’ve read in the last year.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It didn’t have the greatest writing, and there was one part that left me thinking, “Uh, what?”, but I loved it. I actually cried. I actually laughed. And if I had been sitting, I would be able to say it had me at the edge of my seat. It’s not the usual book I read, either. I was SO apprehensive about reading it, and I LOVED it.

FOOD.
For next week’s lunches and dinners, I’m thinking:
Quinoa salad (cucumber, red pepper, mushrooms, with some spices, garlic, and a bit of olive oil). And vegan stew (shit ton of veggies, with barley, thicken up the broth with a smidge of flour). I have a large container of lentils so I need to start thinking of what I can do with those that won’t leave me with mush by the...

Day 5: If you were stranded on a desert island ...
If you were stranded on a desert island, what five books would you take with you? Include one reason for each.
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris This book makes me laugh uncontrollably. I remember the first time I read it and I had just finished reading one of the last stories, “I’ll Eat What He’s Wearing”, and I was in stitches. I calmed myself down and when I went...

I am so apprehensive to finish The Hunger Games.
I love Rue. I adore her. And I know what happens (well, not the details but common sense dictates that she doesn’t make it). And I DON’T WANT TO READ IT. Because then it’s true.
Keep your blood clean, your body lean, and your mind sharp.
– Henry Rollins, the king of the world.
Day 4: Characters you hate and which books they’re...
Bella Swan (Twilight series) I rarely “hate” characters, but Bella is the epitome of everything that’s wrong with literature.

this looks epic! did you follow a recipe or just throw it together?
I just threw it all together. My mom’s favourite meal to make when I was younger was chilli, so I guess I kind of knew how to make it just from watching her so much.
